Christmas Gift Shopping

Heelllooo World,
I absolutely love Christmas, it has been my favorite holiday since I was tiny. In fact in 34 years of my life I have never not believed in Santa.  Some of you might say I am crazy if I believe in a man in his red suit who has flying reindeer and delivers presents to all of the children of the world. That’s okay for you to believe or not believe you are entitled to your own opinion. As am I!

But let go of the object… the man called Santa and listen to the feelings. The feelings of wanting to give, wanting to make someone happy, that warmth that hits even the coldest people, the feel of magic in the air that comes with the nostalgics of Christmas. Also if you are like me and a faithful Christian than we celebrate the birthday of Jesus. Jesus is the reason for the season!

Normally I spend a few months collecting items that I think will make my loved ones the happiest on Christmas Day.. Whether it be of sincere or comic value!  This year this is not the case… Not only have I been consumed with my move and getting adapted to this state we now call home… but let’s keep it real.. I am not working and do not have that kind of money as I am a stay at home cat mom.

So I thought why not do something that I have always wanted to do.. A yearly themed gift.. And for the kids who have no use for a gift like this something different. No what should I do?  I know for those I am sending a Christmas card to I want to send an ornament to mark the change in our lives. BTW This is not the ornament!

For the gifts.. I am thinking the theme should be “Mugs & Socks”.. I think this would be the perfect gift of coziness and warmth. Like I am giving my loved ones a hug from afar! Now we know I am not going to DIY socks because I am not that crafty lol! But should I DIY the mugs with a few Pinterest styles?

I would love to hear your thoughts about doing Christmas presents like this… I am definitely going to try it and if it works out this way I think I might do themed birthday gifts for 2018.
Until next time my pretties,

Toria

5 Items: Burlington Coat Factory

Hi Guys,
This is the beginning of greatness!! I would like to start a new series all about bargain shopping! I am a bargain shopper by blood from my mama… and I can clearance hunt with the best of them aka my mom and aunts!

My family loves to shop… we used to and if we can.. we will still eat our meals on turkey-day all while planning our plan of attack on the sales that are about to unleash! Maybe the love of shopping for most of us is why I truly believe in retail therapy! LOL!

This series will be called 5 items and it is really just 5 bargain items from different stores… sometimes I will give myself a challenge when buying these items or like today just great items I found at a really good price!

Today’s 5 items are from one of my favorite stores and that is Burlington Coat Factory (BFC), this store is a great place to buy clothing, fashion accessories, shoes, beauty, home goods and so much more. I almost found a bit of it all… lol!!

The first item I found was a men’s denim button up that I thought would be cute as a light throw for those days where the sun is out like summer but there is also that lovely fall breeze! This is a Guess shirt that originally retailed for 89 bucks but I was able to purchase it on clearance for just $17!

The second item I found also is an item made by Guess… but these are slides and unless you live under a rock then you know slides took over this year like never before! I was looking at the Guess slides online and when I saw them in BFC I jumped on them! They retail for 25 bucks and I bought them for $15… not as big as a deal as the first item but saving is saving!

The third item of course is a notebook because stationary, books, and journals is always a stop at every store… this notebook is cute, pink, and motivational! The notebook retails for 14 bucks and I bought it for $4!

The fourth item I found was not something I needed but something I wanted for the new place. I saw this and thought this would be so cute in my dining area with the rest of my farmhousey items! The canister retails for 10 bucks and I bought it for $5!

The last item was not actually an item for me but a gift for Lani… she turned 13 recently… becoming a teenage girl, getting into makeup, becoming a young woman and I knew she would need to find her scent! So I picked up a 1D perfume that smells divine and the bottle is so precious! If I can find another I will add one to my collection. This perfume retails for 16 bucks and I bought it for $7.

And there you have it the 5 items from BFC.. what do you think? Let’s run some numbers:

Retail Value: $145 – Purchased Value:$48 – Value Saved:$97

I will take that 97 bucks any day… this is why I love the being a Deal Hunter! I hope you enjoyed this new series.. I look forward to the future of this series of course… it’s all about shopping!! I am excited to go for other stores and challenges. The challenges can be a budget or a look alike outfit from a magazine.. I am going to try and be creative with the challenges! If you have any challenge ideas or stores you want to see me try.. Just let me know!

Current Anxiety Reducers

My anxiety is always here and I am still against the whole medication thing.  I am one who depends on prayer and activities to help me.  Previously I have given y’all my things I would do to help myself get out of the funk and since that is almost always changing as life always does… I figure why not an update!

  1. Making List

I have notebook galore and I am always buying more because I make list after list after list.. About everything and anything you can think of.  And since my blog is basically all list I think you already knew this!  I can actually finally say I have gotten closer to filling up a full notebook every single page in it (I feel so accomplished) so I feel now would be a good time to try one of those books that inspire you to make list.

Here is the one I went with from Amazon: >>CLICK HERE<<

  1. Plan

I love to plan events even if they are just imaginary at the moment!  Ever since I was little I have been planning weddings and wedding events for myself.  I did it so often I wanted to become a wedding planner.  With the help of Pinterest and Google Chrome I have now made slides of the wedding I am convinced I want.  In fact I have shared a few wedding themes I am thinking of with you here on my blog.

Here are the are my blogs all about my wedding wants: Blog 1Blog 2Blog 3

Here is a page of the Google Slide that I created:

  1. Design

Much like wedding planning I have been designing since I was a teenager on graph paper making blue prints to each room.  And through the years I have been designing dream homes on paper and Pinterest.  Now that we are moving soon I have been utilizing Google Chrome to design our next home.  However I have come across this game app that allows you to design rooms based on requirements for money and all the other players get to vote on your room designs and you can win furniture items.  The app is called Design Home and I am sure it is available on the Google Play store as well as I-Tunes where I got it.

Take a look here at the app screen shots- 1st you see your requirements, 2nd you design, and 3rd they vote and you get a rating.

That is the current list… but I thought I would throw in a few things I have done for a long time and a few coping mechanisms that I wish I could adapt:

In the past I would do many of the things here but I would also shop a whole lot and do not get it wrong I still shop way too much.. especially when things feel bad buying something new makes me feel new.  But I also used to write music and poetry and I miss doing that soooo much!!  I also love to eat, hang out with the loves of my life, spend hours online researching, and of course play with make up.. and most importantly I like to pray even though my depression sometimes doesn’t allow me to do so.

The coping mechanisms that I am hoping to adapt besides writing music and poetry again are: cleaning, organization, minimizing, read books and exercising.  If I could focus my energy on activities like these maybe I could get a cycle of healthy happiness instead of shopping and eating to cope with anxiety and depression.

Oh and BTW I also want to learn to travel with zero anxiety but I will be happy with less anxiety over the amount that I get!
Till next time my pretties!

Moving Wants: Mom’s Room

🐘

List..List..List..List..List (in my Riri voice)

Okay so we are a few rooms in now and if you did not know.. I am planning on taking my mommy with me.  I am her caregiver and her only child so it is only natural that I take her with me! And her little doggy too!!

So now we are here building a Decor Inspo post for her room.. You know the drill this series is all about the list of things that I need from room to room.  This gives you a look into my decor hopefuls and I can not wait to show you how it turns out when we finally move in. ( still about 18 months)

I can not say it enough.. I am so so happy to have my mom with me again.. We are super close and are best friends!  I know this will be a hard transition for my mom as well as a culture shock when she is away from everything and everyone (besides us) she knows (especially Lani)… so I am hoping to fill her room with positive and bright decor.  Especially elephants with the trunks up(in honor of a love started by my Nana)!

BTW thank you internet for the great inspirational pics! (Links added)

As I said for my Mama’s room there is nothing more important to me then to make this comfortable relaxing peaceful serene and beautiful.  I know at this time in my life I can not give her a big house or expensive gifts but if I can give her a room to call all her own decorated to her idea of beautiful than I would feel like a good daughter.  She deserves relaxation and serenity in life.. She has done so much for so many and it is time I give her some overdue relaxation.

Moving Wants:Guest Room

That’s right you read the title correctomundo… we are moving again.

We have moved each year since we have been together but this time we are moving for his work and moving to another state.  I have not made the announcement of where just yet so I would like to see the guesses in the comments.  I will say we are getting much more space for way less.  We are not exactly sure on the moving date but it will be within the next 18 months I suspect and you know nothing wrong with planning ahead!

This series is all about the list of things that I need or want from room to room.  This gives you a look into my decor hopefuls and I can not wait to show you how it turns out when we finally move in.

I am excited for the whole process but one of the coolest rooms will be the guest room which will also double as my filming space for YouTube!  That means no having to to take down the lights and cameras unless we have guests coming to stay.. and yes we will have a room for guests to visit since we are moving out of state.

BTW thank you internet for the great inspirational pics!

Lifestyle Wants: Figuring A Skincare Routine

I am semi new to the skincare process… meaning I have always washed and exfoliated my face.  I have always taken off my make up with a wipe and have moisturized.. But that is it and there so much more to having healthy skin.

But I am very skittish to slop the creams, serums, and other stuff all over my face without knowing if there will be a certain reaction to it.  The types of reactions I am prone to is 1. Nauseousness from the smell of the product and 2. Very seldom I do get a skin irritation from certain products that I yet to confirm which products those are.

Due to the 2 negative reactions I could have- 1. being avoidable and 1. only try and test will help… I have kind of put my skincare on the back burner and now… I have combo dry skin that is oily in some spots but dry everywhere!!!!!

Now that I am going to work on organizing my life with the help of list list list.. I figure I can routinely add in skincare.  Make time for myself  to relax while all the same take care of this very important thing in life SKIN!

Here is what I am thinking the routine should be for AM and PM and I would appreciate any feedback and or suggestions on products.

After Wake-Up

1.Cleanser- Daily

2.Toner- Daily

3.Rough Exfoliant- Every 3 Days(opposite to night exfoliants)

4.Target Treatment- As Needed

5.Serum-Daily

6.Light Skin Mask- Prior To Full Face Makeup

7.Sunscreen- Daily

Before Sleep

1.Make Up Remover- As Needed

2.Relaxation Cleanser- Nightly

3.Gentle Exfoliant- Every 3 Nights(opposite to day exfoliants)

4.Target Treatment- As Needed

5.Night Serum- Nightly

6.Relaxation Moisturizer- Nightly

7.Skin Mask- Twice A Week(opposite to pre-makeup mask)

Specific-

Lips:

1.Scrub- Daily

2.Balm- Daily

3.Mask- Once a week

4.Moisturizer- Nightly

Eye:

1.Cooling- Once A Week Daytime

3.Patches- Once A Week Nighttime

Nose:

1.Blackhead Remover- Once A Week Nighttime

All of the above came from me doing and watching plenty of research and combining a routine that seemed feasible for my own life or the one I am working up to.  It may seem like a lot of work but once I get into the groove… it should become second nature and easy to do with hands tied behind my back.

For SPF we all know how important it is to apply this everyday rain or shine.  The good thing about makeup nowadays is that most of it comes stocked with SPF.  My favorite foundation is IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Illumination with SPF 50+, it is my go to and it is amazing.. I recommend for everyone out there.  I can skip the face sunscreen in the AM if I am doing a full face when using that foundation but to be honest I do anyways only because why not double the protection.

I have so many more routine type blogs to type out for you.. Makeup, Hair, AM routine, PM routine (non skin care lol)!  And if there is a specific one you want to see just let me know!  Now begins my favorite part of trial and error… shopping taking it home and trying it out.  I will post haul video’s on my YouTube <<click<< and when I have a final product routine I will post on here on there and everywhere.

Planner Relationship Goals

I have been wanting to commit my life to something very important, it is something I have had many failed relationships with my whole life.  What makes this time different is the fact that we are moving and I will be taking on more responsibility to control a household of 3 (not preggo).  If you have yet to figure it out I am talking about a relationship with an agenda planner.

My whole life I have tried to be the type of person who is dependent on my agenda plans but something always comes up… where I forget to put one day in and that’s it I won’t touch it for about 3 months.  My routine is to start up and plan about 4-6 weeks of things, add in all birthdays, and some work schedules ( I technically work 4 jobs 2 of them are paying in cash and 2 paying in experience to hopefully be my main source of income soon).  After I take two weeks to enter all this info I get distracted with life and just live without looking at the planner.

To some maybe most this is not a bad way to live because no matter what the situation I am able to just keep the flow and go with it.  But at the same time there are times where I feel chaotic with no direction and my anxiety is at the all time high.

Last year I got two planners.. I know two is excessive but one was a birthday gift.

The first was a Lilly Pulitzer 17 month agenda book.  This was the bigger book.  LP agendas are so colourful and vibrant and so very much girly.

IMG_8869

(thank you Google for the pics)

The second was a Kate Spade 17 month agenda book.  KS agendas are cute and elegant and very lady like.

IMG_8874

(thank you Google for the pics)

I think the big issue is my mental illness.. depression and anxiety!  I want to be that person who is so organized and feel chaotic if I am not organized but it is quite the opposite.  I have this feeling that if things are well planned and organized is just going to go off track so why even try.

I need to shake that and just buckle up get a hold of myself and do what I have got to do… FOR THE SAKE OF ORGANIZATION!

I am not saying this is hard to do and I know plenty of people do it no issue.. I am saying for me this will be a challenge a very personal challenge that I am betting I am not alone in this world with.  I need to plan meals, a family schedule(including 2 pets), trips home (when we move), YouTube and Blog, maybe even wedding planning.. Plus I have so many things I want to do like Bible Study, Gemology, and Escuela.. All of this organization for our home will be on my shoulders!!! I know I am putting more than needed pressure on my self but this is nerve wrecking…

I know that I am going to have to work out of at least 3 books(not including notebooks for study):

  1. Agenda
  2. Meal Prep
  3. Wedding Planning Eventually

Knowing me though I will probably have 2 meal prep books and 4 wedding planning books hehehe BUT.. for the agenda I am hoping to work the whole 2017 out of just one!  I am looking for something fun and pretty that I could have tons of sticker fun with!  If it is inspirational and uplifting that would be BEST to combat my depression and anxiety!

The ones I am looking at would be..

The Happy Planner- this one is uplifting and encouraging and you have the ability to make it my own with plenty of stickers and fun pen colors..

IMG_8879

(thank you Google for the pics)

The Happiness Planner- this one is different because it encourages you to fill out sheets all about happiness.. I am thinking of getting a book like this with out the agenda part just to fill out and answer questions about my happiness!!

IMG_8885

(thank you Google for the pics)

Erin Condren- the most expensive but the most “customizable” in my opinion… even the binding wire is color changeable on these(like rose gold)…

IMG_8891

Let me know which one you think is best based on your own experience or even based on your research for purchasing…
