Hi Guys,

Before we jump into the post all about the hunt for the item.. I have decided to break these into 2 post one for online hunting and one for in store hunting. Now let’s do this!

It has now been about 2 weeks since I began my hunt for the perfect luggage.. Everyday I am online hunting sites like Target, JCP, Walmart, Amazon, Wish, and so on. This post I will share with you what I found online.

But first let me remind you exactly what I am looking for:

  • at least 28”
  • hardsided (which I may not have mentioned prior)
  • unique color (well at least not black)
  • 4 wheeled (also not mentioned)

Travel Purse:

  • big enough to hold my laptop and other essentials
  • small enough to fit under the seat by feet

Now the suitcase I already have is a bubblegum pink carry on roller board. I bought it from Burlington for around 60 bucks. That looks like this one:

Here is what my online search turned up for luggage:

The first placed I checked was of course Amazon since I am a certified “prime-aholic”.. I found this really nice orange suitcase. I love the color because I always rep my SF Giants so an orange suitcase would be perfection with SF sticker or two!

This suitcase is 28”, hardsided, not black, and 4 wheeled. The price is 90 bucks. Want to check it out >>CLICK HERE<<

The next place I checked was Overstock. Overstock is a place that I check out a whole lot but rarely purchase from only because I seem to find better deals else places. However I did find this steel blue hardsided suitcase that is pretty and sturdy!

This suitcase is 27”, hardsided, and not black. The price is 105 bucks. Want to check it out >>CLICK HERE<<

The final place for luggage I checked was ebags.com this site is pretty amazing. If you are in need of a bag you should check out this website! I found a 3 piece set that I actually have had my eye on for a few years now. This is Nine West white with a fabulous snake print stripe. Also it had gold handlebars.

This set comes with 28”, 24”, and 20” pieces. They come in black but I would choose the white. And yes they are hardsided. Check them out and other bags on this site by >>CLICKING HERE<<

And here is my online hunt for the travel purse:

The first place I checked was Pinterest and they turned up was the site loandsons.com with the beautiful but expensive overnight bag “The OG”..

This is the perfect size bag and even as a slot for shoes. The issue is this bag originally retails at 295 bucks. >>CLICK HERE<< to check it out for yourself.

Again on Pinterest I found Sole Society and the Mason bag. This bag is so chic and sturdy looking. I love the extra compartment underneath the actual carry all compartment.

The size of the bag maybe a little bit big to fit under the seat by my feet. But would definitely fit all that I carry with me when I travel. The price of the bag is a nice 80 bucks. Take a look at this amazing bag >>CLICK HERE<<

Finally the last online site I looked at was Henri Bendel simply because I love this store and have always wanted a luggage piece from them. They initially had one similar to the Sole Society shape but that one is not on the site anymore. I did find this simple and chic overnight bag that would fit everything.

This bag is a perfect size and is the classic HB striped print. It also retails for a nice 60 bucks. Go see this beauty >>CLICK HERE<<

That is all of the online hunting info and next post you will see exactly what I find during my in store hunt. I hope you are enjoying this series and of course I am always wanting to know your experiences hunting for luggage and tips and tricks.

If you want to check out the first posting to this Luggage Hunt>>CLICK HERE<<

One final note.. I am thinking of putting out a tips and tricks series of things that I have learned especially working so long in the travel industry. How do you feel about that?

Hi Guys,

Fall is here! Now that I have moved from California to Illinois where seasons are a real thing.. My fall wardrobe needs to be on point.

I am used to just trying to be cute (not warm) because in the Bay Area we have cloudy days but never cold enough to wear a parka and then we have sunny days but never hot enough to leave home without a light coat. Both of these days could take a turn and become scorching or freezing at any moment. To top it off these days happen year round for the Bay.. and for most of the year it was perfect blue skies that is sunny with a breeze..

Fall time to me is more than pumpkin spice life… it marks the beginning of Halloween movies and leads up to my birthday. I know for most it means boots and sweaters maybe a scarf, hat, and glove set but for me there are multiple days during summer when I wear my boots and sweaters. My dad always said “the coldest winter I ever felt is summer in San Francisco.”

Last year for my birthday we flew into Chicago and drove through Indiana to spend time in Cincinnati.. In fact if you click >>THIS<< you can see the vlog from that bday trip. I got my first taste of a real fall season and it was really #SWEATERWEATHER..

So now I am going to show you what OOTD’s I have taken that look good for fall. My “FALL WARDROBE ALREADIES”… and I will follow up with a few “FALL WARDROBE NEWBIES”!

Lets start with a couple casual head to toe outfits:

  1. A chic plaid tunic with denim trim is perfect with cognac over the knee boots and a tan puffer coat for the fall days it gets chilly.. I get that farmhouse cute vibe here!
  2. I used a velvet button up blouse as my light “jacket” over an all black basics (leggings and cami tank) and to spruce it up I threw on black booties with gold details.. I love the vampy feel of the velvet and what is more fall than vampy!
  3. I love a tshirt dress and truly think they are the perfect item for the spring-fall seasons and this one being black and white stripes gives off a Halloween look.. and of course I love my sneakers all year round! All I need is a cute leatherette jacket to keep me warm.

The next few outfits are from when I worked in business casual office and utilize the “casual” aspect to dress cute but comfy with my leggings.. lol

  1. I loved this lined sweater/jacket because it was warm but not sweaty and I would take it and throw it over a tshirt like in the pic and it looks great.
  2. Layering is something that helps with the temp difference from summer to fall. This photo I took a long striped lightweight button up tank and put a light knit sweater over it to give it that preppy business casual look. Also the jacket is a fleece peacoat because a traditional peacoat made of wool is just a bit to heavy for me. I sweat easily!
  3. I adore pink in the fall for two reasons.. 1. My birthday is in October and my fave color has always been pink especially being that one of my birthstones is rose quartz.. 2. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month (pink ribbons) and this specific form of cancer has impacted my family including my mom and I typically try to wear pink almost everyday in October! In this photo I am wearing leggings but a beautiful floral print with pink… again I threw on a great jacket this pink leatherette jacket and black tshirt!

Throughout the whole year sweatshirts or jumpers and tshirts are huge part of my wardrobe but when it comes to fall and winter I normally go ham and stock up!

  1. I have sweatshirts that I make on >>Customized Girl<< and this one was for Gen Beauty by Ipsy in SF with my IG/Twitter on it.. So cute and of course it has pink!
  2. I love food printed on everything (going to post a blog about all the food items I have) this french fry crew neck is amazing!
  3. Who doesn’t love Selena first of all and if I can find more tshirts with her on it best believe she will become my uniform for life!

I know over the knee boots, Ugg’s, and sneakers are the typical fall staple shoes but am I crazy for wanting to wear my fuzzy sandals (yes I wear them with amazing socks!!) all year round.. okay maybe not during the snow time but how would I know since I have yet to experience living in snow!

And there you have some of my past OOTD’s that I consider good looks for the fall I.. my “ALREADIES” << is this a new word lol! I hope y’all enjoyed this and I can’t wait to show you some “NEWBIES” for fall when they start to arrive. Are there any stores you would like to see me try out?

I love you guys so much and thank you reading!

Yummy Mushroom Soup

First I am vegetarian now so learning to cook with my new lifestyle choice. Secondly we are moving and I will be responsible to cook for my family and get us healthy! No eating out as much since I may not have a job right away… hope you enjoy my adventure!

I have been craving the mushroom soup from a specific restaurant that sales cheesecake maybe made in a factory. I don’t mention there name because every time I have gone to get said soup I have been let down by the customer service and have left even before ordering.  Anyways I have been craving it and finally decided to create a recipe based on flavors in my head and experiment. I happy to say that this first try is so yummy and my SO (who is my guinea pig) says it is better than that cheesecake selling factory.

Give it a try and let me know if you adjust anything and at the end I will tell you what I will add next time.

1 stick butter (1/2 cup)

1 tsp minced garlic

1/2 of a white onion diced

2 celery stalks diced

16oz (2 square packs) mushrooms, halved

10oz heavy cream

1 8oz can broth (I used vegetable)

salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese to taste

Time To Cook:

Start by prepping your veggies dicing onion and celery, also halving your mushrooms.

Heat a large saucepan and once heated add butter. When butter is melting coat the pan and add in the garlic, onions, and celery. Stir with wooden spoon until the onions are becoming translucent and at that point add in your mushrooms. Cover with pan lid to tenderize the mushrooms faster.

When you notice the mushrooms begin to shrivel or tenderize add in your heavy cream. Let simmer for about 10-15 minutes slowly stirring and lightly pressing mushrooms down at the same time. (We are basically trying to infuse the cream with mushroom flavor)

After simmering the cream with veggies you want add in your can of broth. Let this simmer for 5-10 minutes stirring and pressing again.  Now you get to add in salt, pepper, and cheese for taste. Just a reminder you don’t want to over salt or pepper the soup so I used lightly coated the top of my soup 2 and a half times and it was good.

For the cheese it depends on how cheesy you want your soup I opted for less cheesy and added to good sized dollops.

After you have come to your preferred taste in the saucepan you are going to add your mix into the blender. Blend this until it is liquid about 4 minutes. You can taste here to add more cheese or salt and pepper.

I wasn’t happy with the consistency so I added cornstarch. 1 tsp cornstarch and 1/8 cup hot water and deluted the cornstarch so no clumps were there.  I poured it into the blender and blended for 2 minutes. Let this sit for 5 minutes to thicken.

-Next time I will add sautéed mushroom pieces to garnish the soup and to add texture.

I hope y’all enjoy this recipe and let me know how you enhance or embellish or just enjoy it!

Current Anxiety Reducers

My anxiety is always here and I am still against the whole medication thing.  I am one who depends on prayer and activities to help me.  Previously I have given y’all my things I would do to help myself get out of the funk and since that is almost always changing as life always does… I figure why not an update!

  1. Making List

I have notebook galore and I am always buying more because I make list after list after list.. About everything and anything you can think of.  And since my blog is basically all list I think you already knew this!  I can actually finally say I have gotten closer to filling up a full notebook every single page in it (I feel so accomplished) so I feel now would be a good time to try one of those books that inspire you to make list.

Here is the one I went with from Amazon: >>CLICK HERE<<

  1. Plan

I love to plan events even if they are just imaginary at the moment!  Ever since I was little I have been planning weddings and wedding events for myself.  I did it so often I wanted to become a wedding planner.  With the help of Pinterest and Google Chrome I have now made slides of the wedding I am convinced I want.  In fact I have shared a few wedding themes I am thinking of with you here on my blog.

Here are the are my blogs all about my wedding wants: Blog 1Blog 2Blog 3

Here is a page of the Google Slide that I created:

  1. Design

Much like wedding planning I have been designing since I was a teenager on graph paper making blue prints to each room.  And through the years I have been designing dream homes on paper and Pinterest.  Now that we are moving soon I have been utilizing Google Chrome to design our next home.  However I have come across this game app that allows you to design rooms based on requirements for money and all the other players get to vote on your room designs and you can win furniture items.  The app is called Design Home and I am sure it is available on the Google Play store as well as I-Tunes where I got it.

Take a look here at the app screen shots- 1st you see your requirements, 2nd you design, and 3rd they vote and you get a rating.

That is the current list… but I thought I would throw in a few things I have done for a long time and a few coping mechanisms that I wish I could adapt:

In the past I would do many of the things here but I would also shop a whole lot and do not get it wrong I still shop way too much.. especially when things feel bad buying something new makes me feel new.  But I also used to write music and poetry and I miss doing that soooo much!!  I also love to eat, hang out with the loves of my life, spend hours online researching, and of course play with make up.. and most importantly I like to pray even though my depression sometimes doesn’t allow me to do so.

The coping mechanisms that I am hoping to adapt besides writing music and poetry again are: cleaning, organization, minimizing, read books and exercising.  If I could focus my energy on activities like these maybe I could get a cycle of healthy happiness instead of shopping and eating to cope with anxiety and depression.

Oh and BTW I also want to learn to travel with zero anxiety but I will be happy with less anxiety over the amount that I get!
Till next time my pretties!

Too Faced Obsessed: Eye Shadow Palettes I Own

I have a favorite cosmetic brand and from the title you can tell who it is.  I am obsessed with their packaging and I am in love with the quality of every thing I own especially my eye shadows.  I consider them a high end brand as there palettes typically range from 30-50 bucks sometimes a little higher. However this is a high end cosmetic company that is worth every penny and makes myself and all of the TF addicts sparkle with joy.

I have gone through so many high end eye shadow palettes and there may have been great competitors in quality or in packaging but never have I found one that has both.  Don’t get me wrong I am not saying there is no cool, chic, and beautiful packaging but TF has the pretty and cute element that I am fond of.

My history with Too Faced Cosmetics is that they were my first in high end in a few categories. When I started to jump away from drug store makeup my first palette over 20 bucks was the old version of Natural Eyes and my first liquid lipsticks were the Melt Lipsticks in Fuchsia and Coral.

Now I am just so in love with just about every product they put out.  Of course I am not saying there are not items that I have a love hate relationship but I will just say I still have and reach for my very first palette from TF and it still does a classic eye like no ones business.

Let me show what I have and tell you what I have and why I bought it.

I will link what I can.. And like always thanks “WWW” for the pics!

1.Natural Eyes (Older Version)- I could only find a link for new version.. >CLICK<

I love this palette because you could do a pinup look so very easy.  It can be a subtle eye, a bright sparkly eye, or a darker earthy smokey eye.  They did take away Nude Beach, Velvet Revolver, and Cocoa Puff in the new version.. all of those I would consider my faves of the palette but Nude Beach was my confidence for a long time.  I stopped using this palette so I would never use it all.

2.Smokey Palette- >CLICK<

I bought this palette not to long ago and have used it a few times. That is not because there is a difference in quality of eye shadows but only because they are darker colder colors that I do not typically reach for. This palette is not currently available on TF site or other makeup stores but I did find it on JET click the link above.

3.Chocolate Bon Bon Palette- >CLICK<

This palette is where my addiction to their design stems from.  The smell of chocolate that wafts your nose every time you apply a color to your lid is incredible.  And hello it is full of hearts and speaks to my heart fully.

4.Peanut Butter & Jelly Palette- >CLICK<

I was counting down the days for this palette to release for three things: 1.the peanut butter scent 2. Peanut Butter and Peanut Brittle the copper colors and 3. Jelly the vibrant purple color.

5.Sweet Peach Palette- (Not available as of 24SEP- will update if changes)

After being so impressed with the Chocolate Bon Bon and PB&J palettes I was so yearning to smell this palette

I reluctantly missed out on the Xmas releases of 2015 so when I heard they were releasing scented palettes this year I could not help but try to pick up all three.  The packaging the scents the everything Christmas.. I love it all!! So far I have gotten:

6.New York Grand Hotel- >CLICK<

Comes with 3 palettes with scents they each have 6 eye shadows and 1 blush or bronzer- 1.Eggnog Latte 2.Mocha Pepermint 3.Gingerbread Cookie

7.New York Merry Macarons- >CLICK<

smells like macarons and comes with 12 eye shadows.

First let me know who makes your favorite eye shadow palettes and why?

I am really dedicated to my obsession of Too Faced Cosmetics (especially their eye shadows) so much so I am doing research on discontinued items and upcoming releases.  I will be going through all eye shadow colors and seeing where they recycled colors.

The next following postings will be:

  1. Lippies I Have
  2. Facies I Have
  3. Eye shadow Palettes I want: Available
  4. Eye shadow Palettes I want: Discontinued
